Spanish publication El Pais has claimed that Paris Saint-Germain striker, Edinson Cavani rejected 1million Euros (N428 million) from PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi to hand over penalty duties to team-mate, Neymar.
The publication claimed that Cavani was offered the payment, which amounts to the bonus he would receive should he finish as the club's top goalscorer in Ligue 1 this season, but the striker has snubbed the sweetener.
This comes after the Cavani and Neymar engaged in a spat over who should take penalties. In a bid to settle the quarrel, Al-Khelaifi spent the past week in negotiations with Cavani and his representatives.
Neymar was seen remonstrating with Cavani as they both stood over the spot arguing over who should take the penalty, having earlier squabbled over the taking of a set-piece during a game against Lyon
