He said that the government has introduced good
policies that enable investors to make good return on investment urging the investors to invest in telecommunications especially sate light, ICT, education, research and other sectors.

According to Shittu, government policy on Ease of Doing Business is yielding results as many investors have continued to expressed interest in investing in the country.

“While Finland has made waves in the areas of Technology, education, industrialization and ICT, Nigeria can still be said to be a dumping ground for most foreign goods, including devices in ICT.

It is on this reason that we reemphasize this to the Finnish Embassy, and the Finnish business delegation that Nigeria is one country that welcomes the whole world. We welcome you to invest here for good business and we need these investments.”

The minister added, “Nigeria is a big economy, trade has become liberalised as well as financial services. There is an assurance that any business made in Nigeria will be profitable.

We can recall that NOkia being one of the oldest mobile telephones became a household name in Nigeria but along the line it vanished. But we want to plead for Nokia to return to Nigeria because it has a lot of Nokia products.

It was hard to see Nigerian who have not used Nokia phone before, Nigeria is fade up with our country remaining a dumping ground, what we want is for the Nokia country to set up a factory locally to engage Nigerians.

The minister also commended the Ambassador for improving the relations between Finland and Nigeria.”

Earlier in his remarks, the Finland Foreign Minister of Trade and Development, Mr Mykkanën said that they were in the country to create new partnership especially in energy production, education and health.
